When we decided to leave Europe and relocate to Canada, we dreamed of a fresh start full of promise and opportunity. However, we unknowingly brought along a package deal of toxic relationships. The first couple of years were tough; we found ourselves ensnared in a web of negativity, emotional manipulation, and turmoil. It felt like we were living in a nightmare, unclear about how to break free.


Recognizing our situation took time. We felt heavy with the weight of toxic individuals around us, making it difficult to experience joy and freedom. Research indicates that toxic relationships can decrease our happiness by up to 60%. We knew we had to change, but the path ahead seemed filled with confusion and fear.
